Now it is possible to know the degree of sustainability and eco-efficiency of each product.

How was born the Eko quality label? We live in the information age, and yet we couldn’t know the social and environmental commitment of the products we wanted to buy.

It was then when we decided to investigate if it was possible to develop a tool that would allow us to know real information about the eco-efficiency or degree of sustainability of the products.

After a lengthy study, in collaboration with the Hub of Ecodesign and I-K Engineering, the Eko Label was born. Therefore, we can now highlight each product’s environmental properties to help you make a more conscious and sustainable purchase.

What does it consist of?

It is a percentage that represents the degree of eco-effectiveness of each product.

It helps us ensure that all products available from Ekohunters meet quality standards throughout the entire life cycle.

Who is it for?

The Eko Label is for those who consider a product’s sustainability an essential factor when valuing a purchase.

And for designers who want to know the true eco-effectiveness of their products.

Where to find it?

The information of the Eko Label is transferred to the product file so that it is easy to find and evaluate the information related to the eco-effectiveness of the product.

3 Types of criteria we take into account generate the measurements of the Eko Label

1. Upstream criteria for Eko Label measurements: obtaining raw materials and components

Re-use of materials

We analyze the % of recycled and reused raw materials over the total materials used in production.

Material Recyclability

We analyze the % of materials that can be recycled at the end of the product’s life cycle.

Use of renewable materials

We analyze the renewal rate of the materials used in production.

Toxics

We measure the toxicity levels of the raw materials used for the production of each product.

Non plastic petrol

We calculate the use of bioplastics and other alternatives to petroleum-based plastics.

3. Downstream criteria for Eko Label measurements: distribution, use and end of life

Distribution

We provide the consumer with the potential impact of the distribution of the purchase made. The consumer will be able to estimate the CARBON FOOTPRINT of his purchase depending on the origin and destination of the same, according to the stretch of kilometers traveled by the purchased product from its source to the delivery place set by the buyer.

End of life and recyclability of the product

We analyze each component’s recyclability to assess its possible reintroduction into the market as part of a new product.
